Iran’s Mining Exports Hit $13.7 Billion in 2023, Marking 9% Growth
Iran’s mineral exports reached nearly $13.7 billion in 2023, reflecting a 9% growth compared to the previous year, according to IMIDRO. Steel chain products led the sector with $6.1 billion in exports, followed by copper ($1.6B), aluminum ($902M), zinc ($547M), coal and coke ($500M), and cement ($384M).
In the same period, imports of mining products totaled $7.3 billion, up 35% from 2022. However, the value of exports was 95% higher than imports, demonstrating Iran’s strong mineral trade balance.
