Types of Conveyor Belt Cleaners in Iran
Belt conveyor cleaning systems reduce maintenance and repair costs for conveyors that transport wet or sticky materials, enabling maximum productivity. The challenge of sticky or wet materials adhering to the belt, which becomes even more problematic on conveyors with greater length, width, and speed, can lead to significant operational downtime in production processes.
- Primary Cleaners: Primary cleaners are typically installed on the drive drum and close to where the material is discharged from the belt. These cleaners are ideal for removing large pieces of material.
- Secondary Cleaners: Secondary cleaners are placed where the belt leaves the drive drum or any other suitable location under the conveyor line to remove any remaining material after the primary cleaners have done their job. These cleaners can increase the overall cleaning efficiency to over 90%.
Belt Cleaner Types
For recommending the most suitable conveyor belt equipment, collaboration between FITCO's sales engineering team, technical support from manufacturer’s specialists, and the knowledge and experience of the customer's technical team is essential.
Various Series of Belt Cleaners Made by Rulmeca
P Series Cleaners for Single-Direction Conveyors:
This series of cleaners feature blades consisting of several scrapers mounted on a flexible yet very durable rubber support, all of which are installed on a tubular frame. This structure ensures independent movement and continuous, efficient belt cleaning. These cleaners are mainly used to remove wet and sticky materials on single-direction belts. The blade pressure is controlled by adjusting the connection screw of the flexible support to the fixed base.
R Series Cleaners for Reversible Belts:
These cleaners are designed for use on reversible belts. The R series cleaners feature a tubular section where the scrapers are fixed to a rubber support. This allows the blade to flex in both directions without damaging the belt in case of unforeseen pressure or reverse belt movement. Proper installation and precise adjustment of these cleaners are critical to their efficient operation.
H Series Cleaners for Reversible Belts:
This series of conveyor belt cleaners is suitable for both reversible and single-direction belts. As a primary belt cleaner, it can remove most residual material from the belt surface and can be complemented with other series cleaners, such as those from the P or R series (depending on whether the belt is reversible). This series is usually installed where other types of cleaners cannot be installed.
FITCO Conveyor Belt Suppliers - MLT Group
Founded in France in 1947, MLT now has three manufacturing plants in France and one in Belgium. The group now owns companies in Germany, Peru, Morocco and South Africa.
MLT also produces the first SUPER-SCREW® flexible connectors for conveyor belt splicing and repair, a step towards changing the technology in this field.
Primary Cleaners
RacloFlex series primary belt wipers with their inherent flexibility that allows the cleaner to adapt to the curves of the belt and with multiple blades made of polyurethane or tungsten carbide, provide excellent cleaning on conveyor belts. If the belt has repaired sections, this adaptability will be of double importance.
Easy blade replacement, which can be easily done by a technician without the need for special tools, is another feature of this equipment.
Secondary Cleaners
MLT's secondary belt wipers have a unique flexibility that, despite having an integral blade, allows it to adapt to the belt and also distributes pressure evenly across the width of the conveyor belt, preventing gaps between the belt and the cleaner.
Tungsten carbide blades in these cleaners can be selected as an option for tough applications and corrosive materials.
