Water Extraction Equipment in Iran - Provided by FITCO
Thickener
Thickeners are part of the dewatering machines in mining plants and refineries. The purpose of dewatering is to separate the water from the concentrate or tailings and returning the water to the production cycle.
The thickener consists of a large cylindrical tank which the incoming slurry enters into which the center of it. There are one or more rotating radial arms inside the tank, each of them has blades, and as they rotate, the settled solids are directed towards the outlet, and remained water overflows from the thickener.
The use of some chemicals such as flocculent and the way the thickener is fed are among the factors of selecting the thickener. The addition of these materials to the suspension in the thickener causes the floating particles to bind together and form larger particles, increasing the settling rate and thickener efficiency. The tailings from the thickener are transferred to the tailings dam and the recycled water is returned to the processing cycle. The dewatered concentrate is further dried using a filter press or vacuum disc filter.
At FITCO Company, You can various types of these products due to your industrial needs.

Filter Press or Pressure Filter
Filter press or pressure filter is a non-continuous dewatering machine. The separation is performed to reduce the moisture content of copper and iron concentrate. In this equipment, moisture separation is performed based on applying pressure to the incoming pulp.
Filter presses have a fixed plate that is pressurized by a movable plate connected to a hydraulic jack. By applying pressure, solid particles remain behind the fixed plate and water pass through the holes of the filter cloth and are separated.
Automatic filter press devices can also include a vibration system. After the dewatering operation is completed, the cake is formed and the device plates are opened, the device starts to vibrate and the cakes formed between the plates are completely separated and the material discharges.
Disc Vaccum Filter
The function of a disc vacuum filter is similar to a filter press. It consists of a drum rotating at low speed. The drum has discs, each of which is divided into sections. The lower edge of the drum is immersed in the pulp, then vacuum is applied to the discs then the vacuum is interrupted and compressed air is introduced which causes the dewatered cake get separate from the disc.
Hydrocyclone
Hydrocyclones are used to separate particles smaller than 250 microns from the slurry liquid. The slurry flows into the hydrocyclone and under pressure, a vortex motion is created in it, which creates a low-pressure area and a column of air in the vortex axis that is connected to the outside and the fine particles flows from it to the next stage.
The particles that are larger move towards the hydrocyclone wall, where the speed is lower, and then are guided along the discharge way and exit from there.
General information
The initial cost and maintenance of hydrocyclones are low because in addition to the fact that no electrical devices or moving part are used in them. The way a hydrocyclone works is through centrifugal force and the difference in density between water and the particles in it.
